Herbalife Review: The Company And Your Business

January 31st, 2010

Herblife Review: Founded in 1980 by Mark Hughes, Herbalife was created to try and help people improve their basic nutrition. As the company grew and expanded, other products were added, including personal care items. This company first started in Los Angeles, California and then in 1982, expanded to Canada. One thing they are best known for is their weight loss goods.

It is interesting to note that is was not only created to help people with their health, but their financial well-being, as well. They provide opportunities for individuals to become distributors of their products. While it is said that their compensation plan is generous, there are also drawbacks. You do have to be able to make an investment. On top of that, you also have to build your customer base, because you won’t sell anything without people to sell to.

Something immediately noticeable, if you explore their website, is the information that they do not provide. When you try to find details on how to get involved with them, you find a page asking for all of your personal details. They do not tell you anything there about how much money you need or how you will find people to buy the products. This probably deters many people who would like some answers, before giving out confidential information.

Another factor seems to be that they state nutrition as being their main focus, yet mainly concentrate on weight loss. This seems to be the intent of their largest percentage of products. While they also sell other items, they just generally give the impression of thinking everyone needs to lose weight. It is true that there are many people for whom obesity is a problem, but this does not apply to everyone. When someone does not need this type of help, someone assuming they do can be upsetting and offensive.

Another drawback can be the price of the products themselves. They are not exactly what one could consider inexpensive. While they may be great quality items, it does make you wonder if they are worth the price. There are many products on the market that use high-quality nutritional supplements. Some careful shopping might enable you to find items that contain the same ingredients are much better prices.

Their personal care items are some of the highest priced ones on the market. Everyone likes to take care of their skin, but having to pay $21 for a clarifying face mask is a little outrageous. Many people think that a higher price tag means an item is better than something cheaper, but this is not always true. These products may be great for those that can afford them, but there are many people who will be forced to shop elsewhere. A better pricing structure would surely broaden their customer reach.

For people who are determined and can afford the endeavor, Herbalife can help them grow their income and use great products. There are others, though, that are going to find it just is not a practical idea.

There are many companies that sell similar products, which are much more moderately priced. There are even a few that allow you to distribute their items for little or no investment. Before using their products or getting into their business, be sure to explore all of your options.
