The diet and weight loss industry makes billions of dollars each and every year with the majority of their income coming from people who are on their second, third or thirtieth diet as most weight loss programs are designed to fail. Through out this article I will go through the three main reasons why your diet is going to fail in the long run.

Amazing On Paper Sucks In Reality – The average person spends a ton of hours researching looking for secrets to the question of how to lose weight and end up creating a diet plan that they will not be able to follow past the first week. The problem is simple and that is people are trying to create the perfect plan then trying to accomplish this massive feat instead of designing a program that fits their life. A person will put down that they will spend X amount of hours each week in the gym yet do not have those extra hours to spare too begin with or that they will eat completely healthy yet do not realize the preparation it takes to achieve this goal. Make the diet plan fit your life and not the other way around.

2. Keeping At It – The number of people who rush to gyms after New Years eve is a pretty impressive number but the people who keep at it after the first couple of months is a mere fraction of the original number. It is one thing to plan out a detailed diet plan but the difference in who loses weight comes down to commitment. Losing weight and getting more healthier is not a sprint but a marathon so your diet plan needs to reflect this. The goal never should be to lose ten pounds in ten days but to be at a healthier weight by the end of the year.

3. Watching Paint Dry – Going to the local gym a few times a week gets really old really quick and most diets are designed with the excitement of shampoo directions so in order to keep your health journey continuing you need to mix it up. Incorporate new dishes into your diet and instead of going to the gym try the local pool for a new twist. There are a wide variety of dishes and exercise programs that can be interchanged easily and it will not feel like your watching paint dry.

The goal of designing a diet plan is to help you on the journey of losing weight and becoming more healthier but in the end it needs to fit you in order to work. Remember the majority of people who purchase a weight loss diet plan have done so in the past. It is time to break the mold and create a diet plan for the individual and not for the masses.
