Exercise Bicycles Are The Easiest And Swiftest Way To Start A Daily Healthy Exercise System

March 7th, 2010

We live in a non-exercising and all around unhealthy society. The majority of us promise ourselves and others that we are going to begin a healthier lifestyle, however, for one reason or another the goal gets put on the back burner. Exercise bicycles make the goal easier to reach. They are inexpensive and do not require the daily trip to a gym.

The least expensive of the models is normally an upright model also called a stationary bike. These were designed to simulate a cycle you would normally ride outside, except they remain in a stationary position. The bike can be used in both a sitting or standing position and come with or without handlebars. These provide an excellent use of exercise for the legs.

The dual action models are created to give both the legs and the arms a workout. The handlebars move to provide an exercise routine to the arm and upper body areas. The pedals will provide exercise to legs and lower body. They can be a little higher in price than other models, but they are still in the affordable range. With the design meant to give a workout to the top and bottom parts of the body you will have quicker results than with a standard upright model.

The newest and most comfortable model are the recumbent styles. They are comfortable to use and do not give the resistance found in other models. The lack of resistance makes them easier to use while still getting a good workout. This style is great for someone who has been requiring physical therapy due to an injury because they will help to rebuild strength without excess strain.

Stationary bikes have changed in style tremendously over the years. They are no longer a huge piece of metal equipment in the living room taking up space. They are made to store easy, are less expensive than when first originated and are excellent resources for anyone wanting to improve their cardio workouts.

Heart disease is a leading cause of death and though changing our eating habits is extremely beneficial, there is a need to exercise as well. The idea of going outside in the freezing or scorching weather to run for a few miles is just not feasible to many people. But the need for exercise is crucial to staying healthy.

Exercise bicycles are the perfect alternative to neglecting exercise due to the weather. They are an inexpensive alternative to joining a gym and can be done indoors away from the bad weather excuses we all use. One of the easiest ways to get on a daily routine is to schedule your riding time for the same time your favorite program comes on he TV. The stationary bike allows you to watch television at the same time you are giving your heart and other muscles a much-needed workout.

Exercise bicycles are the perfect alternative to neglecting exercise due to the weather. You can use an upright exercise bike or exercise bicycles that come in all shapes and sizes – there’s plenty more to choose from. Check out the free information on our website now.

A Hormone Imbalance: The Source Of Multiple Health Problems

February 8th, 2010

A hormone imbalance is most common among women because of the way their body is designed to work. In the first part of a woman’s monthly cycle the body produces estrogen, in the middle ovulation results and after ovulation the body produces progesterone in preparation to receive the egg in the event that a pregnancy occurs.

If the woman does not become pregnant, the body stops producing both hormones and she has her period. This process keeps the hormones in balance on a month by month basis. If a woman does not ovulate during the month, then the estrogen is not balanced by the progesterone, because progesterone is only produced when ovulation occurs, and an imbalance occurs.

As a woman ages, the same thing happens. Less progesterone is produced in the body, while more estrogen builds up. Some girls start this problem with their first period, or a woman may start it after she has her first baby. Age and having a tubal ligation can, also, cause the hormones to become unbalanced. Once this starts it has a domino on the woman’s health.

Too much estrogen in the body affects the brain, actually causing it to start swelling. The most common problems a woman experiences is swelling in the hands, breast tenderness, mood swings and headaches. Too much estrogen can affect the way the thyroid functions which in turn causes stress on the adrenal glands, resulting in adrenal fatigue. This can cause symptoms such as fatigue, inability to think clearly, weight gain, depression, sleep problems and a host of other problems.

Anytime there is an imbalance of hormones, the entire immune system is affected. This causes the woman’s fitness level to decrease. She no longer feels like exercising or worrying about her health. She just tries to survive each day. Sometimes it gets so bad she can hardly function.

This is not normally a problem that most women consult their doctors over. They have a tendency to think it is just how women are, and they do not think there is a problem. If they see it as a problem at all, they feel it is caused from them working to meet the needs of their husband, children and home while working a full-time job.

When progesterone decreases and estrogen increases, the best way to balance them again is for the woman to use natural progesterone. If not, the symptoms she is experiencing will keep lowering her level of fitness. Once the two hormones begin to equal out, the woman will begin to feel considerably better. She will regain her strength and energy, and she will start feeling completely different.

A woman should not expect to feel different soon after she starts using the recommended dose of the natural progesterone cream. It is not something that fixes itself overnight. It will most likely take close to four months before the two main hormones are balanced. When they are, her fitness level will rise and she will begin to feel considerably better. She will have a better outlook on life, her depression will go away and she will be able to think clearly.

Whenever a woman starts having these symptoms she should go for a doctor visit. If for some reason she does not want to do that, she can begin using a natural progesterone cream. If she doesn’t begin to see a change in how she feels after a few months, she should definitely see her doctor, because the problem may be caused by something more serious.

Excessive estrogen in the body affects the brain, causing it to swell. The most common issues a female faces are breast tenderness, swings in mood and even weight gain. We have got the inside skinny on how to lose weight with fat burning foods

Mental Health and Wellness – Are You Being Weighed Down By Your Fat House?

December 14th, 2009

What’s your de-cluttering style? Do you just ignore that build up on the dining room table, the end of the bed, the floor of the garage and anywhere else you accumulate stuff? Do you move piles from one room to the next or do you have a ‘junk’ room, even a junk draw?

Even the most organized and tidy of the people I know can identify somewhere in their house that they feel is disorganized, untidy or cluttered, more importantly for the purpose of this article, that is impacting on how they feel – and potentially on their mental health and wellbeing.

I realized I had been feeling a sense of overwhelmed for a while and I was letting the mental list of de-cluttering jobs really weigh me down. One of my patterns is to take the ‘all or nothing approach’, where I won’t or don’t start until I have time to do the whole job.

Sometimes we find ourselves feeling overwhelmed by the ‘clutter’ in our lives and this has an impact in ways we don’t even imagine; it can even have an impact on our mental health and wellness. Eventually I decided that even though my home would never have been seen by others as a mess, the toll it was taking on my own metal health and wellness was certainly not congruent with living an outrageously healthy life.

Have you ever felt like the clutter in your house, office, workplace, wardrobe or garage was getting you down? How did it feel when you finally did something about it? Did you have a sense of relief? Did you even feel lighter or happier? Sometimes we find ourselves feeling overwhelmed by the ‘clutter’ in our lives and this has an impact in ways we don’t even imagine; it can even have an impact on our mental health and wellness.

Eventually I decided that even though my home would never have been seen by others as a mess, the toll it was taking on my own metal health and wellness was certainly not congruent with living an outrageously healthy life. I realized I needed to start breaking things down into smaller bite sized pieces, small tasks that I could accomplish in a short period of time and start to feel good about making progress.

The first thing I did was clean out my fridge and pantry – what a relief. I was embarrassed at all the out of date products we found in the pantry, which had to go in the bin, it felt so wasteful. As a result we have decided we will not keep too much in the pantry at all from now on. It is so nice to go to the pantry and be able to see what’s in there. The fridge is a weekly task we do just before we go shopping it serves 2 purposes, firstly we get rid of anything that needs to go and secondly we know what we already have and avoid buying more than we need.

The next task was the linen cupboard, I thought it would take me ages however it took very little time and I was able to donate our excess sheets and towels to a local charity for recycling. Each time I do one of these tasks I find myself going to open the cupboard just to look at how nice and neat it is, to be honest I often take other members of the family with me so they can admire my handy work, and get the clue to keep it tidy, I hope!

So how about taking a step by step approach to de-cluttering your life and, in doing so, improve your mental health and wellness. There is even some evidence to suggest that the clutter in our life may also contribute to holding onto clutter on our bodies – excess weight. How much more motivation do you need!

In a recent de-cluttering mood, I decided to clean out my wallet , amazing what you find in amongst all those receipts. I had a ticket I had purchased for a Lotto draw a few weeks ago, I took it to the newsagents and guess what? Yep it was a winner $30.65. So whilst this is not going to see me retiring on a tropical island, I did take it as a sign that I was on the right path.
